Phase 1

In progress

  1. Full web port of the game

    The whole GameCube ROM, in your browser.

  2. Cloud saves

    Sign in and your town follows you to any device.

  3. HD texture packs

    Drop in a Dolphin-format .zip from Options → Load HD Texture Pack.

  4. Multiplayer

    Town visits are live. Ride the train to a friend's town and play together.

  5. Town map editor

    Build a town layout tile by tile in your browser, then walk it in-game.

  6. Animal Crossing+ (QOL mods)

    Quality-of-life tweaks on top of the original, already live, with more on the way:

    • Sit on rocks & stumps
    • Drop & place furniture, gyroids, and clothes as their real 3D models
    • 360° camera and first-person view
    • Improved lighting and visual effects (opt-in)

Phase 2

Future

  1. Cloud mailbox

    Write a letter, send it to any town. Letters cross between players asynchronously.

    A shared town where everyone online can hang out together.

What is Animal Crossing Online?

Animal Crossing Online lets you play the original GameCube Animal Crossing right in your web browser, with no emulator to install and nothing to download. It's a faithful WebAssembly port of the real game, with an online layer on top: cloud saves, Dolphin save import, and live visits to your friends' towns.

Bring your own GameCube disc image, load it once, and your town is ready on any device: desktop, phone, or tablet. You can also design a custom town in the built-in map editor and walk it in-game.

How it works

    Get a disc image of an Animal Crossing GameCube copy you own (.ciso, .iso, or .gcm).

  2. 2

    Load it on the Play page. It's cached in your browser and never uploaded anywhere.
